Due to the large number of people offering website design services in Birmingham, there is always a bargain to be found.
Web design companies in Birmingham are in a very competitive market and some offer some great deals at various times of the year.
People who are just starting out in a career building custom design websites will often offer their services at a very reasonable rate, basically to build up a portfolio. Once they have established themselves they then tend to increase the amount they charge.
I have even heard about one person who for a very short period of time was building websites for free! This is an extreme case though.
A friend of mine called Dave was looking to have an internet prescence for his small business a number of years ago. He did not have a huge budget, however was looking for a person or company to create him a professional looking website which would be search engine friendly.
He tried looking in many areas including yellow pages, ebay, bargain pages and also by asking his friends, to see if they knew of anybody.
He also searched in Google for the search term, very cheap website design in Birmingham. There were many different websites listed, after a few phone calls, he managed to find a very good deal.
There are plenty of people offering quality website design services, who do not charge huge fees, just keep looking and you are sure to find them.

Uganda a land endowed with misty forests, snow-capped mountain ranges, lake and Rivers, hills, wildlife and beautiful landscapes. The country has beautiful sceneries and dense tropical rainforests-some of the few in Africa, which are a home to roughly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. I had an experience that proves that Uganda is truly ” Gifted by nature”.
Arrival in Uganda
We arrived in Uganda and had a short stay in Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. It was so beautiful hanging out, relaxing and enjoying the experience in Africa with warmly welcoming people, beautiful people and service.
Journey to the heart of South-West
After our night in Kampala, we set out early morning to southwestern Uganda with Churchill safari guides, anxious for experience in “the pearl of Africa.” The journey took us 6 hours drive, passing charming attractions en route like the royal drum makers, the Equator, and we stopped at the roadside market to enjoy Lunch, fruit and vegetables en route. The journey from Kabale to Buhoma took us 3-4 hours with a 4WD, since the terrain is hilly and roads are bumpy. The driving time was approximately 9 hours and we arrived late afternoon and spent the night at Bwindi Tented Camp.
Gorilla tracking safari at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is magnificent Rain Forest, lying across the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift Valley. The forest is a home to 326 gorillas, roughly half of the World’s Mountain Gorillas. The altitude of the forest is above 5200 feet which means trackers need to be physically fit for tracking. Since the demand of Gorilla tracking is systematically growing, we had to book for gorilla permits in advance as well as organise our trip with the help of Churchill safaris and Travel.
Gorilla tracking experience started early morning with the guides waking us up, and preparing us for the all day adventure into the mountains. We then took a long walk at 8:30 am local time early in the morning through the forest in search of gorillas. Accompanied by a guide and porters, we were fitted out in jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. The terrain can be difficult, with steep slopes covered in dense vegetation that gives the park its name. The time taken to track the gorillas varies from as little as half an hour to as much as 8 hours, and it may occasionally last the whole day! The Tracking was quite rigorous, and rain gears, sunscreens, insect repellants and a hat given the fact that the weather is un-predictable was part of the experience.
The walk through the dense forest with our guides took us to the spot where the Gorillas were last seen, and we started following their trail through the dense forests of Bwindi. Finally we had the most exiting experience when we had an encounter with the Gorillas. Looking at the gentle giants is surely the most exciting encounter Uganda has to offer. We were limited to one hour with the gorillas with rules of course. We were also allowed to take a few pictures of the Gorillas, an opportunity no one could miss. Parting from the Gorillas is not easy. Leaving the spectacular view was such a difficult task.
The day ended with a walk back after a long day, with scenes of other attractions like mammals including diurnal primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, buffalo and elephants, bird species endemic to the Albertine Rift and butterflies. The forest has a dense under storey of fern, shrubs, vines, and About different tree species have been recorded here, 10 of which occur no where else in Uganda. The day was full of experience and adventure.
Gorilla tracking remains the most popular activity in Uganda safaris, though its dependant on the seasonal movements of the habituated gorilla groups. The experience was worth every drop of sweat and money paid, very enjoyable and exciting. An experience hard to forget.

A review of recent literature on management, job advertisements and career advancement suggests that in today’s competitive employment market employers’ value communication skills more than technical competence.
The ability to communicate effectively with others and get along with a variety of different types of personalities is two of the most desirable qualities in job candidates, according to employers. Employers want to discern if you have the ability to organize your thoughts and ideas effectively.
The competencies employers seek are:
• Communication

• Interpersonal
• Diversity
• Technical Knowledge
Job seekers who demonstrate these traits have an advantage with prospective employers.
It is in every job advertisement and most job descriptions: “must possess good communication skills.” Microsoft - requires cross functional domain expertise, sophisticated technical and functional know-how of the company’s products, understanding multi-vendor environments and an ability to communicate this understanding simply and effectively to the customer.
Siemens - For all positions, you should have qualified from premier institutions and/or have exposure to MNC working environments. Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work within teams are essential for all positions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for all positions.
At Hughes software systems, the technology that we put our mind, body and soul into, screams ‘cutting edge’. It’s developed such that it can adapt to the changes of not just days and months, but also the years to come. So, leave behind more than just your genes for your grandchildren - software and a legacy of having worked with global giants.
Actively looking for BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Techs in Computer Science and Communications…Good documentation/presentation skills are a must.
Once hired, it reappears at the performance appraisal: ‘Improve communication skills.’ The corporate recruiters rank communication skills as the top criteria for hiring employees.
Why is communication the core of the corporate world?
The truth is that it has always been the core of the corporate world. From the moment potential employees see a recruitment advertisement to the day-to-day interactions with managers, every aspect of employees’ interaction with organizations involves communication. Communication between the people and the company is the core element of a good corporate reputation.
When organizations want to implement strategies, communication is the core of understanding and awareness of the strategy, commitment, coordination and sharing responsibilities and adequate capabilities. Communication plays a fundamental role in business continuity, in a crisis or in corporate reputation. Good communication enhances organizational productivity. Communication is absolutely fundamental to a successful outcome.

The new check cashing instant clearing will take some time to get use to. If checks clear immediately and deposits take a few days then franchise outlets may find more bounced checks in their establishment.
We might also see a major shift in Thursdays Advertising inserts in the Newspapers, also a shift in Thursday junk mail coupons. Retail outlets will not wish to run sales items on Thursdays because they will get too many bounced checks.
When ATM cards became more widely used we saw a slow trend away from Thursday ads and it became more spread out over Fridays. Also many mailer coupon packs that are run by franchises may need to switch their delivery dates to coincide more with weekends as the paychecks people get may not have cleared their accounts, while every check they write will.
There will of course be more bounced checks in the short term, meaning that this will cost franchise retail outlets and effect their cash flow, while the banks will increase profits within the next two to three quarters due to increased banking fees for those bounced checks during this Christmas Shopping season. If you will recall a couple of years back banks made additional dollars by allowing electronic debits to run over and then collecting the fees for over charges per transaction, increasing profits by nearly 30%. During this same time Christmas sales were able to remain strong since the consumers were buying on money they did not have, thus the whole process mimicked super high interest short-term loans.
We in franchising need to understand that every single thing that is changed anywhere in the economy will effect our businesses, some good, some bad, some just different, never the less we are effected. I have talked to few franchise outlets who believe this trend is significant, yet as consumers become more indebted we will see more and more of them running redline, paying credit card payments with other credit cards.
As the float is taken from consumers who are use to it in their habitual shopping habits and given back to the banks, we will see more bounced checks in our franchised outlets, this will also effect franchisors in late royalty payments of those franchisees who are in economically depressed or job-recovery areas of our country.
The consumer’s cash flow becomes the franchised outlets cash flow, which affects the franchisor’s cash flow. Bank profits will increase significantly in the interim on the backs of these consumers and we will feel a slight pinch and changing of shopping day peak trends as these new banking policies come into play.
We are always interested in what effects your bottom line as a small business, franchise outlet or even a large Corporate Box Store as retail sales in our economy effect jobs, factory orders, consumer confidence, stock market, money flows and the future of the business cycles, you should be too.

Why on earth would you want to run an event for your business? Events take a lot of organizing and publicity, not to mention the time you might not have and, depending on what you want to do, they can also cost quite a bit of money.
So is it really worth all that effort?
In a word, yes!
An event is a fantastic way to get a whole lot of your clients and potential clients together so you can present to them all at once, saving you huge amounts of time and effort trying to reach them all individually - and even better, as the speaker, you come across as an expert in your field. Give your clients valuable information and they will talk about you and recommend you to others. Having an event is also a great way to encourage your clients to network with each other and see how they can help each other - and of course, it’s you they’ll thank for that opportunity.
Having your name on an event can be very good publicity for you and your business. If you pick a hot topic for your industry you could find yourself interviewed by the local press, on the radio, or even on television, all of which increase your chances of being seen as an expert by potential clients.
You may even make money directly from your event - either by charging admission, finding sponsorship or by having products to sell at the event. Regular events could produce a nice stream of new income.
You could generate yet another income stream just from one event by creating one or more products - you could video it, record it, transcribe it, turn the learning materials into an ebook or online course and sell it - the possibilities are endless.
So once you’ve decided to go ahead - how do you pick a good topic? You’ll need to look at what your industry is discussing right now and what they really want to know. There are lots of ways to find this out:
- Run an online survey - www.surveymonkey.com has a free option you can use to create some very useful surveys
- Ring several trusted clients and find out what they’d like to learn more about
- Go to online forums on your subject and see what everyone is talking about
- Post on online forums and ask people what they might be interested in
- Look at the bestsellers on Amazon, Barns & Noble and Clickbank
- Look at the most popular keywords using a word tracker tool
- Go to your trade association and ask what their members are interested in
- Look at competitor’s ezines and see what they are discussing at the moment.
Once you have your topic you’ll need to pick a date and an event format. What kind of event should you offer? Look at where your potential clients are based:
- If most people are in a particular area of the country, you should consider having a face to face meeting - this is always the best option if possible as you have much more chance to impress and to deal on the spot with any objections and questions, as well as providing that all important networking opportunity for your clients.
If your clients are scattered across the country or even across the world, you’ll need to look at running a teleclass or web based event:
- With a web based event using a facility such as www.hotconference.com, you have the option of using the whiteboard, showing a PowerPoint presentation, directing people to view a website and seeing the attendees online via webcam - this is a great way to give a presentation but make sure you are practiced at using all the features of the software first and consider whether your clients are technically-minded enough to be comfortable with this, and likely to have equipment such as webcams and microphones.
- If this is your first time running an event, the easiest option is to run a teleclass, where you set a date and time and participants simply dial in and listen to you. Many companies, such as www.freeconference.com, offer this service and a quick Google search should bring up a long list of companies you could use.
If you choose a live event you’ll need to find a good venue. Look at cost, position - find somewhere central with good transport links and parking. Make sure you see the room you’ll be using before the event so you can see the space you have available and plan your layout. Check maximum numbers the room can hold for fire regulations, find out where the fire exits and fire alarm are and make sure there is disabled access.
You’ll need to market your event very well to get good numbers:
- Use your own ezine, local press and radio, the chamber of commerce and online forums.
- Write articles on your subject and submit them to article directories and other ezines.
- Tell your trade association and use online event listings.
- Go to networking events and take leaflets with you to advertise what you are doing.
- Ask each client to bring one potential client to get a free place
- Offer to speak at other events on the run up to yours with a taster of what people will get on the day.
- Find another non-competing company who are aiming for the same market and do a joint event
Don’t just rely on one way to get publicity - think of as many different ways as you can and use the best ones for your event.
You’ll need to be very organized and plan well ahead. Make sure you order any equipment you might need in plenty of time. Make up an event checklist and build yourself a kit with plenty of spares - pens, training materials, extension cables, flip chart paper, gaffer tape, scissors, etc. Check with the venue that everything’s ready for you the day before the event.
The more value you provide, the more likely you are to be seen as an expert in your area and the more business you will get from your event and from word of mouth after the event as a result, so don’t deliver a sales pitch - your content has to be high quality, entertaining and informative or people will feel cheated, particularly if they paid to attend.
Once the event is over make sure you follow up and ask for feedback - it’s the best way to find out if the event was what your clients wanted, to get ideas for future events, and also a great to chance to chat to prospective clients to see if they’re interested in working with you. You can also collect testimonials which will help you if you plan to run events on a regular basis, and which you can also use to promote any products you develop from your event content.
In short, pick a great topic, plan everything carefully, publicize what you are doing as much as you can, and check everything is in place the day before the event. On the day, don’t forget to relax and enjoy yourself - if you are having fun, the audience will too. Lastly and by no means least, whatever you do, don’t forget to follow up.
Just by following these guidelines you could find yourself with any amount of new clients, lots of publicity and several new income streams.
Worth it? Definitely!

Basics of web hosting
Websites no matter what purpose they stand to serve, personal and professional, brand new or existing ones, need a reliable and committed web host. But when it comes to start looking around for a host, one is often flooded with plenty of choices. The options herein are varied: from absolutely free to excessively expensive, from damn feature-packed web hosting to services which sound sincerely modest and realistic in claims and offerings.
How you make a decision amid such apparently lucrative or tacitly disadvantageous, if you dig a little deeper, options depends on how best you know what you need, and what you are eyeing eventually. And definitely not to say, whether you want a lot of business or none at all.
Here are a few things that may act as a ready reckoner while you are contemplating a reliable and sincere web host:
Go for a free web hosting, and get ready for a ride
Free web hosting is a tempting offer. But your business needs investments - wise investments. Don’t let yourself be fooled in your desperation to save some monies.
Paid hosting has got a lot more advantages over free hosting. First and foremost, you will get more useful features as against free hosting. Technical support will be far much better, with help available in times when you critically need it. Moreover, paid hosts will have much faster connections and your site will appear quicker, which may be a distinct advantage for you.
What is most significant is that with paid hosting you won’t have to display a banner on each page advertising the Hosting Company and, worst still advertising to the world that you are on a free host
While choosing the operating system, make a need-based decision
Quite often you will find Windows tempting enough as your operating system. What you know is that your PC runs Windows and that’s why you need a Windows Host. What you do not know is that you may be wrong here. You may take a lead from the fact that the marble halls of business most major companies host their websites on Linux Servers. Linux Servers actually runs faster and are more secure than a windows server. Windows seek to include every possible function in the base package whilst Linux allows the host company to add the functions they need.
Analyze value-added services on offer Hosting companies offer different value-added services to stand tall in the crowd. Make sure you do not go for value added services that you won’t use anyway. Some of the really cool features are: auto-installers which saves you time if you are going to install a forum, image gallery, or content management system, and online website builder which lets you design a website in a few minutes without having any creation software and knowledge.
Look for around the clock tech support
This is precisely because if you have a problem with your website, you need to be able to talk to someone and have them fix it immediately. As long as the host offers this sort of support, it is perfectly okay. If they don’t, chances are that you might wait several days with your website down, and might experience the agony of lost business.
Settle for large bandwidth
While going for a web host, negotiate for plenty of bandwidth to support your site. More bandwidth means your site loads as quickly as possible, opens fast, and will carry a hell of lot of information.
Ask for excessive storage space
Even though you do not need much storage space, do not hesitate to have it in excess because you may need to give your business some growing space.
Get email that relates to your company
The moment you have a web host and a URL, you need to have your own email that ties into your company name. This is very common place, but you may be tricked here nonetheless.
Ready the web host for additional domains
Future holds all kinds of possibilities. You never know how soon you might feel the need of more than one domain. So, it is fine that you talked about ready willingness of your web host to provide you the same once the need arises.
Do not forget to include domain parking
If you have already a domain name, but do not have your own name server then you will surely require a web host that will allow you to store or “park” your domain name on their server. It will help your domain remain valid for a longer period of time. Make sure you get toolkit to manage your site
Be sure you get a tool box that will help you manage your site easily and the way you want. This is really important for you that you are able to do it with ease and convenience.
These useful tweaks will definitely come in handy to you whenever you sit down deciding which web host’s features should take precedence over rest others and why.

Heck, I think there is enough of that on the net already! These days you can just about get a website hosting plan with all the “bells and whistles” for 3 - 4 dollars a month. Still think it is too expensive? Try going for a little less than all the “bells and whistles” and you can probably get a hosting plan for 2 dollars a month. Just take a look around and you will see for yourself!
To be bluntly honest, this should be the least of your worries. Would you like to know what the real obstacle is? How about rather looking for an Affordable website hosting company that can give you great quality service and also has the habit to stick around for the long term.
Now now, I am not trying to scare you. Just trying to make a valid point.
It is really not difficult at all to pick the right hosting company. One of the most effective ways to do this is by following all the points written in the list below:
In the beginning do not give them a full up front payment for the whole year. Pay monthly instead. Do this at least for the first six months to a year. By doing this, it will set you up for the following points.
Make sure they have a 24 hour / 7 days a week support line. Test this support line on a continuous basis. Take note at how fast they answer your requests. requests should never take more than 24 hours to be answered.
How long have they been in business? However, at the same time, don’t think that every new company that is out there is evil. After all, every one has to start somewhere. But at least keep this in mind. Another reason to be paying monthly for the mean time.
Read reviews on the company. Try to make sure that the reviews you are reading are independant reviews. Also go to forums that relate to this subject and ask anyone there for their honest oppinion.
check around to see what the average going “bells and whistles” are. If you don’t understand what some of them mean, take the time to find out, then ask yourself if you really need it.
Just use common sence!
So let us be reminded!
Affordable website hosting is easy to find. Take the time instead to make sure you are getting great quality with that plan too. After all, it is not always the direct price of the plan you are looking for when you are looking for an affordable website hosting plan.

In compiling some information on achieving a proper fit to the horse when purchasing a saddle I came across several “Rules of Thumb” to bear in mind. There’s a wealth of information available on the subject of saddle fitting, some of it contradictory. It’s easy for the first time (or even second time) saddle buyer to get confused . The following Rules of Thumb are designed to help a prospective buyer get pointed in the right direction.
The Rules :
Rule of Thumb #1: All saddles don’t fit all horses.
This would seem obvious, but the novice might buy a saddle with only the rider in mind. While it’s obvious that a Belgian, Quarterhorse, and Haflinger would each require a saddle of a different size this is still a good rule to keep in mind.
Rule of Thumb #2: Some western saddle (trees) fit most western or stock horses.
There is truth to this statement. A Western Saddle built on semi-quarter horse bars will fit most cow ponies and similarly an English saddle on a medium tree will fit most horses. Either way, you have maybe an 80% chance of success. But if you have to go through the hassle of returning a saddle or have to suffer with a poor fit those aren’t necessarily the best odds.
Rule of Thumb #3: If you purchase a saddle based on appearance alone, it won’t fit (Murphy’s Law applied to saddle buying).
Well, we all do things like this occasionally, probably more with automobiles than with saddles. It’s hard to turn down something that appeals to the eye. But most experienced horsemen and horsewomen wouldn’t buy based on looks alone - would we?
Rule of Thumb #4: Like other things in life, the more information you gather, the better your chance of success.
What this says is that if you’re going to purchase a saddle, the more you know about saddles and the more you know about the horse(s) in question, the better your chance of success (a good fit) will be. You needn’t be an expert - just take the time to learn a few things like, why fit is important, the basic parts of the saddle tree, etc..
A corollary to this rule is - find out what the saddle maker or retailer needs in the way of information to get you the saddle you need. If they don’t ask for some information find another retailer.
Rule of Thumb #5: If you don’t know a lot about horses, get someone who does to help you out.
Put another way - If you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t do too much of it. This is probably the best ruile for the novice to follow. Get a friend or aquaintance who knows a lot about horses, or your vet or your local outfitter - anyone you feel you can trust - to help you out. They can tell you what measurements to need to take or, by looking at the horse, whether you really need to take any. Getting some expert assistance can save you lots of grief downstream.
Rule of Thumb #6 (Golden Rule): You won’t know for sure if the saddle fits until you put it on the horse and go for a ride.
This rule has all sorts of implications. “Measuring” the horse for saddle fit can range from visual inspection to withers tracings to molds and high tech measuring devices. The more you measure the better the fit you are apt to achieve but at some point it can be overkill because you never achieve a “perfect fit”. The only way to validate good fit is to put the saddle on the horse and go for a ride.
More detailed information on saddle fit plus a number of related articles can be found at www.your-guide-to-gifts-for-horse-lovers.com/saddle.html.

Going green is a thing that is going to influence us all in the next 15yrs. We have Eco Travel, Electric Cars and Biological Fuels to look at now.
There are likewise different breeds of Bio Fuels. Biological Fuels are many mainly plant based substitutes to oil- based fuels such as petrol, diesel & heating oil. Burning biodiesel gives off CO2 emissions, though this is equalized through the fact that the crops used to construct it uses C02 from around the atmosphere to grow. In spite of this the green gains of Biological Fuels are hotly discussed, with some environmentally friendly specialists maintaining that Bio Fuels cause more harm than good. There is two real breeds of Bio Diesel & Ethanol. Reduce your carbon footprint with Eco Travel.
As the name means, biodiesel is planned for use in diesel motorcycles. Biodiesel is deeply related to veg oil and is constructed from the same types of plants- oil rich sources such as sunflower, palm, rapeseed and groundnut. Biodiesel might well also be constructed from ox fat or oils reused from Polish cuisine restaurants. Biodiesel will often be used smart in some diesel motorcycles, even so, at present Bio Diesel is more ordinarily visible in a mix with normal diesel- regularly sixteen percent biodiesel with regular diesel fuel. This blend could be consumed by any regular diesel automobile.
Ever thought about buying a environmentally friendly car? There is two sorts the G WIZ electric car & the Mega City electric car. The above mentioned are genuinely climate friendly machines; in fact Bio Diesels cars are many an environmental daydream. Biological Diesel do not manufacture any C02 emissions in fact more to the point the electric cars do not even own an exhaust pipe. For the reason that you power a environmentally friendly car from renewable energy, it fabricates zero CO2. Though this climate friendly car has various pros it does have several cons as well. The obvious one being it is an eco friendly car and it might well only do 105 miles before you may have to top up the powerpack and all that on the whole has to be done over the course of the night, if you are scheduling on doing an extended tour, this may have to be concluded over the course of quite a few excursions.
